Morgan Ski Rainey

 

Morgan Ski Rainey (Tournear), age 35, formerly of the Joplin area, unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026, in Ottawa, KS.

Morgan was born June 16, 1991, in Joplin, MO to Shawn Tournear and Roberta Elkins. Growing up, she attended Carterville Christian Church, where she was also baptized. In 2009 she graduated from Webb City High School where she was a member of the swim team. She loved her family deeply, especially her children. She had the ability to make a friend wherever she went and made deep connections with those around her. She had a gift for working with adults with disabilities, was a talented gardener, and found joy swimming in any body of water.

Morgan is survived by her children, Harper Rainey of Belton, MO, Xander Rainey of Belton, MO, and Millie Braker; her parents, Shawn Tournear (Jennie) of Oronogo, MO, Roberta White (Terry) of Joplin, MO, and Marla Tournear of Bartlesville, OK; her siblings, Kelsey Reynolds (Nick), Autumn Basye, Kourtney Myers (Dallas), Dustin Martin, Cameron Tournear (Alyssa), and Bethany Martin; her grandparents Mary Trudy Harris, and Pat Lawhorn; her many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Cliff McKee, and grandparents Joe Tournear II, Kay Tournear, William “Bill” Elkins, and John Lawhorn.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 AM with funeral services to follow at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at Christ’s Church of Oronogo in Oronogo, MO with Jim Dalrymple officiating. Private family burial will follow at the Carterville Cemetery in Carterville, MO. Memorial contributions may be entrusted to the family or Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery and Crematory in Joplin, MO.
