Lawrence “Larry” Walter Vaughan

Lawrence Walter Vaughan, age 80, of Joplin, Missouri passed away on July 29th, 2026 to be with his Lord and Savior. He was born on July 17th, 1946 to Laura Ruth and Lawrence Edwin Vaughan. Despite having a difficult start, Larry led a fulfilling life and played many meaningful roles. He was a son, brother, husband, dad, and grandfather. Larry was a protector, a provider, a coach, a volunteer, and a leader. Larry demonstrated a commitment to those he loved in so many ways, including continued commitment to jobs to provide for his family even when it wasn’t the best environment. His family saw and appreciated the love, patience, gentleness, and courage he exuded.

He is survived by his loving wife Gail; his two sons Christopher and Matthew (wife Stephanie); five grandchildren, Alyssa, Emma, Madison, Audrey, and Taylor; and his brother, Michael.

Friends and family are invited to join us for a memorial service at Fairview Baptist Church on August 15, 2026 at 2pm.
