Leslee Helsley
Leslee Ann Helsley, age 59, of Chanute, Kansas passed away peacefully on October 12, 2026 at Heritage Health in Chanute, Kansas. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Leslee was a loving mother to her daughter Sandra Hockett, mother-in-law to her son-in-law Anthony Hockett, and a devoted grandmother to her beloved grandchildren, Ethan and Isabella, who brought so much joy to her life. Her love for her family was immeasurable, and the time she spent with them was among her most treasured blessings.
Leslee was married to Tom Helsley for 21 years. Although their marriage ended in divorce, the two maintained a friendship that lasted until the very end, a testament to the lasting bond and respect they shared.
Leslee took great pride in her career as a nurse, dedicating herself to loving and caring for each patient who crossed her path. Her compassionate heart and commitment to others made nursing more than just a professional; it was a calling. Through her kindness and care, she touched countless lives and made a difference to those who needed it most.
Outside of her work and family, Leslee found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She loved hunting, fishing, and enjoying the peace and beauty of the outdoors. She was also an avid cook who had a talent for creating delicious meals. Every dish she prepared seemed worthy of a five-star review, and the love she poured into her cooking made every meal a little more special.
One of Leslee’s greatest loves was her precious dog, Little Bit, who sadly passed away two years ago. But it can bring us comfort to imagine them reunited once again, playing together and enjoying the peaceful days that they have ahead of them.
Leslee will be remembered for her caring spirit, her love for her family, her dedication to her patients, and the warmth she brought to others. Though her absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, the memories she created and the love she shared will remain forever.
Arrangements in care of Ozark Memorial Park.
