Sally Lee (Gray) Wilson

Sally Lee (Gray) Wilson, age 88, of Grove, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026.  She was born on July 15, 1938, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to the late Claudia Irene Townsend and Porter Edgar Gray.

Sally carried herself with class, dignity, and poise-and just enough sass to make sure no one forgot her.  She believed in getting up, taking care of her whole self, and doing the work in front of her, no matter how tired she felt.

For 40 years, Sally worked with Christian Dior and Chanel, helping others feel beautiful.  Yer her family saw her greatest beauty in the way she loved.  Her devotion to her husband, Al, was equally remarkable.  Throughout his time in nursing care, she visited him before and after work, making sure he was comfortable and well cared for.  Her devotion was steady and deeply personal.

Sally worked hard for what she had.  She valued honesty, order, and independence. She offered wisdom freely, especially to those in whom she recognized a kindred spirit. Her family knew both the tenderness of her heat and the unmistakable sparkle of “Sassy Sally.”

Her faith carried her through things that frightened her, and she taught those who loved her that through God all things are possible.  She was formerly a member of Woodstock Baptist Church in Woodstock, GA, and later attended Seneca Cayuga Church in Grove, Oklahoma.

Sally is survived by her sons, Samuel Davis Willliams IV and his wife, Pattie, and Joseph Gray Williams; her grandchildren, Samuel Davis Williams V and Krystal Williams; and her great-grandchildren, Mia Williams, Faith Clifford, Bryden Clifford, and Abigail Clifford.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert J. Wilson; her sister, Charlene Knuckles; and her brother, Porter Gray.

Sally leaves her family with enduring counsel: take care of yourself, love your people, and keep on keeping on.  Sally was deeply loved, and the example she set will live on in the lives she shaped.

Memorial services for Sally will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 6:30 PM at the Seneca Cayuga Church in Grove, Oklahoma.  Florist may deliver flowers to the church beginning at 4:30 PM.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Ozark Memorial Park Crematory, Neosho.
