Ricky Eugene Winn
Ricky “Rick” Eugene Winn 76 passed away at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO on July 31, 2026 surrounded by family. He was born in Chanute, Kansas on November 20, 1949 to Carl and Edna Winn.
Rick graduated from Chanute High School, class of 1968. He joined the Job Corp. where he took auto body classes, before starting work at Bell Body in Chanute. From there he went to work at Blair Trailers, transferring to Cobalt Boats in Neodesha. He started working for Lazy Boy in Neosho, Mo., where he retired after 30 plus years.
In his early years Rick had a talent for sketching, mostly pen and pencil cartoons along with funny captions. He liked getting together with friends to play pool or a game of cards and spending time with his family.
His is survived by his sisters; Linda (Ken) Sigler, Ida, Donna & Ron Hare of Chanute, Kansas, Leila Hale of Neodesha and brother, Glenn Winn (Julie) of Chanute. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Sherry Gurwell. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
