Gregory Glen Smith
Gregory Glen Smith was born July 26,1965 in Stella, MO along with his twin sister, Ginger.
While growing up he had a passion for fishing, visiting grandparents, and celebrating his favorite annual holiday, the 4th of July. He also had a love of airplanes and had many of the models he had put together hung from the ceiling in his room.
He attended HS in Lenapah, OK, and from there he went to work in various places, gaining experience. Because of his love of aviation, he went to work at Tulsair Beechcraft, an aviation and aircraft dealer in Tulsa, OK, where he serviced private jets, getting them ready for the next flight, a job that he enjoyed several years.
In 2014 he moved to Joplin, MO to be near family once again. This move brought forth lots of family time, doing the things that families enjoy doing together. He would have in-depth conversations with his mother, where he told her many times that he prayed before bed every night. He will be greatly missed, and leaves many memories to be cherished.
He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Aubert and step-father George. Sisters, Glenda Dickinson (Richard), Joplin, MO; Ginger Wright (Mike), Coffeyville, KS; nieces, Katie Northup (David), Lawrence, KS; Emily Wright, Kansas City, MO; and a great nephew, Paul Northup. Also, a nephew, Gus Carson; as well as his father, Thomas Smith Along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Evelyn Renner and Ed and Edith Smith.
Greg passed this life on September 15, 2026.
A memorial for Greg will be held on October 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Royal Heights Methodist Church, located at 1612 Euclid Ave., Joplin, MO 64801. Service arrangements under the care and direction of Ozark Memorial Park Crematory.
