Bonnie Jean Hagan
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Bonnie Jean Hagan, who passed on October 28, 2026, at Freeman Hospital. Born on April 14, 1939, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Bonnie lived a life full of dedication, strength, and enduring love.
Bonnie was the daughter of the late Floy and Harold Bools, and was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter (Bill) W. Hagan, and her granddaughter, Katie Lynch.
After graduating high school she attended nursing school at Memphis Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. In December 1960, Bonnie married Walter in Rome, New York. She faithfully served as an Air Force spouse from 1960 to 1974. Embracing military life she created a home for her family through many moves and tranfers.
She later earned her insurance license in Joplin, Missouri, working with American National Insurance. Above all, she dedicated herself to her family as a loving, devoted mother.
Bonnie was well-known for her passion for gardening, particularly her beautiful yard filled with irises and peonies. She was also a talented seamstress who loved sewing, knitting and crocheting, frequently sharing her handmade creations with family and friends.
She is survived by her devoted children: sons Robert, Jeffrey, and Kent Hagan, and daughter Lucinda Garcia. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren—Daniel Lynch, William Lynch, David Hagan, Jonathan Hagan, Tim Hagan, Taysa Hagan, Cole Hagan, Amanda DeSantis, and Chloe Nas—as well as her seven precious great-grandchildren, and twin great grandsons due in November.
A private funeral service will be held for family to honor Bonnie’s life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her memory to the American Heart Association.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park of Joplin, MO
