James Edwin Oxendine

James Edwin Oxendine, a man whose warmth and kindness touched many lives, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2026. Born on October 16, 1943, in Homestead, Florida, James was the beloved son of Onal and Elizabeth (Clymer) Oxendine.

James is preceded in death by his parents, his cherished daughter Patricia, his brother Donnie, and his sister Cheryl, James now joins them in eternal peace. He loved hunting, fishing, and trail riding, but above all he cherished the time he spent with friends and family. Those moments filled with laughter, friendship and togetherness were among the things he treasured most.

James leaves behind a legacy of love in his surviving family members, who will forever honor his memory. His brothers Billy (Pam), Gary (Dena), Randy (Michelle), and Allen, along with his sister Barbara, will hold dear the memories of their shared experiences and the bond that only siblings can know.

James’s loving and guiding spirit lives on in his children: Vicky Hall, Samantha Oxendine, Victoria (Nick) Vaughn, Travis (Susie) Oxendine, Dustin (Ciara) Oxendine children Gage and Finn, Katy (Mitchell) Green with children Easton and Charli, Joey (Carolyn), Josi Oxendine, Kaleb Mercer, Becky Chaparro, Preston Stewart, and Katy (Brandon) Chaparro and Nathan Chaparro. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Though his presence will be deeply missed, James’s family finds comfort in the memories they shared and the lessons he imparted. May his soul rest in peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.

In accordance with the family’s wishes, a private graveside service will be held at a later date to honor James’s life. Services under the care and direction of Ozark Memorial Park Crematory, Neosho, Missouri.
