Irma Pauline (Martin) Saud
1936 – 2026

Irma Pauline (Martin) Saud passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026, at the age of 90. She was born on July 6, 1936, in Perryton, Texas, to Eli McCloud “Mack” Martin and Clara Minette “Minnie” (Helton) Martin. She grew up in Amarillo and also spent cherished childhood years in Spearman, Texas.

On July 2, 1955, she married Abdul Rahman Saud and built a life centered on love, resilience, and family. They made their homes in France, Delaware, and California while Abdul served eight years in the US Air Force. They spent their remaining years in Texas. They also had opportunities to visit England, Thailand, and the Middle East, experiences that deepened Irma’s lifelong curiosity about history and other cultures. Above all, Irma devoted herself to her family. She raised her family with unwavering love, and together they later adopted and raised their young granddaughter, Cassie, as their own daughter. Through creativity, sacrifice, and determination, she created a home rich in books, storytelling, art, cooking, laughter, and love. She was an avid reader, storyteller, family historian, and lifelong learner whose curiosity inspired those around her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, all her siblings, and two daughters. She is survived by four of her children, ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and the many spouses and partners who became cherished members of her extended family.

Irma was the last matriarch of her generation. Her legacy cannot be measured by possessions or titles, but by the countless lives she nurtured, encouraged, challenged, and loved. She lived with purpose, loved without reservation, and remained curious throughout her life. Through her example, she taught those around her the values of compassion, resilience, creativity, and standing up for what is right.

The family invites those whose lives were touched by Irma to honor her memory by sharing a favorite story, extending kindness to someone in need, or simply living with the same compassion, curiosity, and generosity that she shared so freely throughout her life.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
