Scott Van Hoose Sr.
Scott Van Hoose SR. left from this earthly life to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on May 22, 2026 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma surrounded by his family. He was 80.
Scott was born on May 3, 1946 in Quapaw, Oklahoma to Charles Aurthur and Rachel Pearl (Jackson) Van Hoose. He grew up in Picher, Oklahoma where he met and married Beatrice Darnell and they had 3 Sons. Later in life, he moved to Carthage, Missouri where he met and married Joyce Waggoner on August 1, 1983. After the passing of his wife in Dec of 2025, he moved to Bluejacket, Oklahoma to live with his oldest son. Scott retired from St. Mary’s Catholic School where he worked in maintenance and played Santa Clause. Scott never met a stranger. He will be remembered for his onryness and big smile.
Scott is survived by his 3 son’s, Scott (Debra) Van Hoose of Bluejacket, Ok, David (Teresa) Van Hoose of Bluejacket, Ok and Richard (Robin) Van Hoose of Quapaw, Ok. 1 Daughter Ann (Austin) Shipman of Joplin, Mo. His Grandchildren, Andrew (Tanya)Van Hoose, Ben (Krystian) Van Hoose, Tiffany (Josh) Schoenhals and Travis Van Hoose. 2 sisters Judy (Donnie) Wade and Patty (Eddie) McAfee. His companion dog “Queenie” and several Great Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and Friends.
Proceeding him in death are, his wife Joyce Van Hoose, 2 sons Brian Waggoner and Paul Waggoner, 4 sisters Esther Pearl Van Hoose, Fern Andrews, Velma Akin, and Geneva Crabtree. 5 Brothers Lynn Van Hoose, Lonnie Van Hoose, Aurthur “Bud” Van Hoose, Marion Van Hoose, and Charlie Van Hoose.
Celebration of life will be held at BlueJacket First Baptist Church 212 Harris St. June 13, 2026 at 2 PM
Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park of Joplin, MO
