James Allen Lawson

James Allen Lawson, age 61, of Arcola, Missouri, passed away on April 4, 2026, at his home.  James was born on June 2, 1964, in Lockwood, Missouri. He was the son of Jim and Wilma Lawson. James was a groundskeeper at St. John’s Hospital. He loved to be outdoors fishing, hunting and shooting guns every chance he got.

He is survived by his parents: Jim and Wilma Lawson of Joplin, Missouri, Sisters Tammy Whitaker, of Joplin, Missouri, Angela Jones, of Joplin, Missouri and Donna Crow, of Miami, Oklahoma. A Brother-in-Law Jim Whitaker, of Joplin, Missouri. Nieces and Nephews: Mike and Casi McCallister and their children, of Joplin, Missouri. Jeremy and Misty Brushwood and their children, of Carl Junction, Missouri. Eric and Tiffany Whitaker and their children, of Joplin, Missouri. He leaves behind deeply loved aunts, uncles, and cousins. He proceeds in death of his baby brother, Michael Dewayne Lawson.

A celebration of James’ life will be held at a later date.
