Donald Gamber Sr

Donald Gamber Sr., 70, of Jay, Oklahoma, passed away on January 23, 2026.
Born on August 21, 1955, in Ellicott City, Maryland, Don was the son of Constance Zogopolos and Wilson Gamber. From the moment you met him, it was clear—Don never met a stranger. He had a gift for conversation and could talk to anyone about just about anything, especially the two things he loved most: fishing and motorcycles.

Don was the beloved husband of Deborah “Debbie” Gamber, with whom he shared nearly five decades of life. He met Debbie, the love of his life, in 1976, and they married in 1978, beginning a lifelong journey filled with love, adventure, laughter, and unwavering companionship.

A proud father and an even prouder grandfather—known affectionately as “Poppy”—Don cherished every moment with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Being Poppy was one of his greatest joys, and his love for his family was felt deeply and unmistakably by all who knew him.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Gamber; his sons, Donald Gamber Jr. of Florida and David Gamber of Maryland; and his daughter, Sara Gamber of Oklahoma. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Nyctasia Gamber and William of Oklahoma, Serenity Gamber of Colorado, Donnie Gamber III and Archer Gamber of Florida, Breanna of Maryland, and Kyleigh and Gabrielle of Oklahoma; as well as his great-grandchildren, Elvira and Keanu Fechner of Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Constance and Wilson Gamber, and his brother Johnny Gamber.

Don will be remembered for his easy smile, his welcoming spirit, his love of the open road and quiet waters. His presence will be deeply missed, but his stories, laughter, and legacy of love will live on through all who were blessed to know him.
