Jose Manuel de Leon Sr.

Jose Manuel de Leon Sr., age 63, passed away at this home on January 13, 2026, in Joplin, MO. He was born on December 26, 1962, in El Zacaton, Villa De Ramos, San Luis Portosi, Mexico. He came to the United States at a young age and earned his US citizenship in 2008.

Jose Manuel lived a life defined by hard work and always provided for his family, in the states and in Mexico. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was a dedicated Pittsburgh Steelers football fan.

He is survived by his five children, Marie Stallings, Veronica Long, Jose de Leon Jr., Felicia de Leon, and Mariana de Leon; his seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and by his siblings, Guadalupe, Leticia, Juaquin, Dolores, and half brother Julian. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Juan de Leon Escobedo and Juana Esther Sanchez Montantes; siblings Margarita, Julian, Bertalicia, and Juanita. His surviving family carries forward the history of his life, along with memories that are personal, meaningful, and enduring. A private remembrance will be held by his family in the states as well as Mexico. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
