Charles Donald “Don” Wachtman
Charles Donald “Don” Wachtman passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, at the age of 79.
Don was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on August 9, 1946, to Chuck and Ruth Wachtman and grew up in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. He attended the University of Oklahoma before transferring to Central State University, where he earned his degree in Funeral Directing. Don began his career in the funeral business but soon joined his brother Mike in the oil fields, where together they ran D&M Well Servicing until the late 1980s. After a short return to funeral service, Don and Mike went back to the oil business following their father’s passing. That family legacy continues today with WWW Oil, proudly operated by Don, Mike, and Don’s son, Donnie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chuck and Ruth Wachtman, and his sister, Suana Stewart. He is survived by his loving partner of 26 years, Nedra Torix; his children, Dani Wheelen (Mike), Donnie Wachtman (Amy), Todd Wheelen (Caroline), and Marci King (Curtis); and his grandchildren, Jasmine Cooper (Clayton), Jordan Bailey, OB King, Christopher Wheelen, Braxton Wheelen, Carter Wachtman, and Katie Wachtman. Don was also blessed with three great-granddaughters who brought him much joy. He leaves behind his brother Mike Wachtman and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Don was a passionate OU football fan and an avid bird hunter who looked forward to the annual HC Wachtman Pheasant Hunt every November. Don was a skilled golfer and enjoyed playing daily. He also loved spending time at Grand Lake, where he was happiest behind the wheel of a boat, taking his kids and grandkids on tubing rides and making memories that will last forever.
Don lived his life with humor, and he loved his family.
