Joyce Ann Griffoth

Joyce Ann Griffoth, 76, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away peacefully on November 11th, 2025 surrounded with loved ones. Joyce was born on June 15th, 1949 in Joplin, Missouri, to the late Vera Hana and Howard Stanley. Joyce worked as Housekeeping and Maintenance for nursing homes and hotels for 30 years. She was also known for always being a caretaker/refuge for her families. Lastly, retiring to a home maker. She was an avid collector of whatnots. Joyce will be remembered for singing, dancing, and bingo. Also will be known for always loving to watch a live band, for starting conversations with strangers and never failing to make someone’s day. She did not have a mean bone in her body. Loving, understanding, and accepting to her core.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Vera, her son Wade, her sister Nadine, grand daughter Tianna, cousin Larry, and loved one Jim. She is survived by her life partner Tom Thornburgh and his children, her children; Lisa, Martha, Ronnie, Marty, and several grand and great-grand children. She is missed beyond measure!

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on [11/23/2025] at [1-3pm] at VFW Post 534 Joplin, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to VFW post 534, located in Joplin Missouri, a cause close to Joyce’s heart. Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park of Joplin, MO
