Paul Stephen (Steve) McReynolds of Shell Knob, Missouri, went to be with his Lord Tuesday,
May 13, 2025 after a long illness. He died peacefully in his sleep at the home of his mother,
Sandi McReynolds in Webb City, MO. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sisters, Kim
Conroy Provencal (Martin) of Gravette, AR, and Kellee Bingman of Carthage, MO; two nieces,
Cara Etheredge (Michael) of Bartlesville, OK and Carissa Perkins (Darian) of Bella Vista, AR; four
nephews, Shaun Conroy of Joplin, MO, Kyle Conroy (Emily) of Merriam, KS, Seth Bingman
(Sasha) and Eli Bingman (Joanna), both of Joplin, MO; and two great nephews and seven great
nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, C.P. (Mac) McReynolds, and nephew Christian
Verbryck.

Steve was born in Joplin, MO, March 31, 1959 and grew up in Carl Junction. He graduated
from CJ High School in 1977 and attended Missouri Valley College in Marshall, MO, where he
was a member of Alpha Sigma Phi. He accepted Christ as his Savior and Lord at an early age and
was a member of College Heights Christian Church in Joplin. He spent many years in scouting,
working to earn his own way to the National Scout Jamboree in Norway when he was sixteen
and achieving the rank of Eagle when he was only twelve years old. He and his father, who
served in leadership, enjoyed many days camping and adventuring and were honored to be
elected to the Order of the Arrow together.

Steve was a man of many talents. He established and ran an advertising agency in Joplin before serving as a TV weatherman for KSNF-TV and then a Joplin Globe news reporter for many years. Finally, he followed in his grandfather’s and father’s footsteps into construction, working as a carpenter until his illness. He was an
accomplished tile and finish man where he loved to walk out his creative gifts in a practical way. He loved animals and wherever one found his pickup one found his dogas well. He found enjoyment in mountain climbing in Arizona and Colorado and spelunking in the Ozarks. He was an excellent swimmer, water skier and boater and loved all things lake related. But where he found his greatest enjoyment was his music. God gifted him with a sweet singing voice and wonderful touch on the guitar and we are grateful those gifts will live on for us through the songs he wrote and recorded.

Steve’s life will be celebrated on Saturday morning, June 14, at First Baptist Church Joplin.
Visitation will be at 10:00 with a service of thanksgiving at 10:30. There will be no graveside
service. Our family will gather sometime soon to scatter his ashes at the lake where he loved to be.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park of Joplin, MO
