Jimmy Donald McGhee

Jimmy Donald McGhee, 79, of Carthage, Missouri, formerly of Oxford, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, at home with his granddaughter, Brittany Hudson.

Born on February 19, 1946, in Oxford, Mississippi, Jimmy was a proud veteran who served his country honorably in the Vietnam War as part of the Sky Dragons. He was discharged in 1966 and returned home to begin a long career as a truck driver and dispatcher, dedicating years of hard work until his well-earned retirement.
In retirement, Jimmy moved to Carthage, Missouri, where he shared a loving life with his beloved wife, Diane, until her passing. He was a man of quiet strength, deep loyalty, and unwavering love for his family.

Jimmy is survived by his children Selina, Ray, Owen, and Rodney; and a host of grandchildren: Michael, Trey, Danielle, Jamie Lynn, Hailee, Lynnsie, Sydney, Brittany, Emmilia, Andrew, Kimberly, and Rayna. He was a proud patriarch who cherished every moment spent with his family.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Diane; his parents, Boulah and Clinton; his brother Carl; his sister Joan; his daughter Regina; and his granddaughter Arielle. Jimmy’s life was a testament to service, resilience, and family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Service details will be shared with friends and family at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park Crematory of Joplin, MO.
