Armando Chevaili Baez

Armando Chevaili Baez, age 79, of Noel, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Saturday, June 20, 2026.

Armando was preceded by Antonio Chevaili (father) and Celia Baez (Mother) in Mexico. During his early days in Mexico, Armando was guided by the spiritual leadership of his Pentecostal pastor parents. He proudly served his country in the Mexican Armed Forces and then began a career as a news reporter in Monterrey, Mexico where he found his true passion in photography. In the United States, he was employed with Tyson Foods and served as an evening Union Representative, advocating for his colleagues until his well-deserved retirement. Armando continued his spiritual journey, and he was known as a prayer warrior, reading his Bible daily. His love for his community was evident, as he consistently reached out to help those in need. Armando’s heart truly belonged to his family. He was an affectionate husband to Maria Elena Nava, the love of his life, beginning their marriage at the very church they cherished. Family was everything to Armando and his legacy of faith, love, and service will continue for generations to come. He did all these things up until he could no more.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Maria Elena Nava Chevaili; children, Miguel Nava, Francisco Galvan, Elena Galvan, Nora Nava, Cuitlahuac Ochoa, Jose De Jesus Galvan, Juany Chevaili, Maria Chevaili, AJ Olibama Chevaili, Elizabet Chevaili, Sabino Chevaili, Jesus Chevaili, Armando Chevaili, Juan Chevaili, and Brenda Chevaili; his sister, Abigail Martinez; special granddaughter’s he raised, Jasmine Segura and Diamond Zuniga; sons-in-law, Osvaldo Quintanilla and Ruben Ponce; a sister-in-law, Maria Sifuentes; and numerous loved grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 5:00pm. Family will receive friends for a time of visitation between 3:00PM-5:00 PM at the Elk River Baptist Church, 203 Harmony St, Noel, MO 64854. Family requests appropriate funeral attire. Floral arrangements can be delivered to Elk River Baptist Church after 1:30PM on Friday. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen, TX. Memorial contributions may be made to the family and entrusted to Ozark Memorial Park Crematory.

Service arrangements are under the care and direction of Ozark Memorial Park Crematory, Neosho.
