Fred Whitten Hardaway Jr.

Fred Whitten Hardaway, Jr. (Whit), age 67, of Seneca, MO, passed away on April 1, 2026, surrounded by love. He was a devoted father, son, grandfather, and friend whose presence brought strength, humor, and kindness to those who knew him.

Born on September 20, 1958, in Memphis, TN, Whit was the beloved son of Kay and Fred. He grew up in Dallas, TX, and carried the values of family, hard work, and determination throughout his life.

He was known for being a mogul in the field of telecommunications and an entrepreneur gifted in sales as well as field work. He loved the outdoors, including exploring, grilling, boating, hunting, bonfires, and gardening. His mechanical mind never stopped building, constructing, or fixing all sorts of things. Those who knew him best say he was also quite the storyteller. Whether he was at the lake, spending time with family, or helping someone in need, he made people feel valued and cared for.

Above all, Whit loved his family. Though life brought challenges and complexities to his family relationships, his determination to be present and to fight for his children never wavered. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren are his greatest legacy. His tenacity, a force to be reckoned with, will continue to live on through them.
He is preceded in death by his father, two sisters, his brother, his wife, and his son. He is survived by his mother; three children, three siblings; his grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss him.

A celebration of his life will be held at College View Manor on April 10, 2026 at 2 PM.
Whit will be remembered for his love, his strength, and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
