Lester William Taylor

Lester William Taylor, age 94, of Chelsea, OK, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 29, 2026.

Lester, son of the late Lester and Elva (Alexander) Taylor, was born on January 28, 1932, in Garfield County, Oklahoma. He grew up in Oklahoma and worked several different jobs.

He was united in marriage to Barbara Ann Kirkbride, on July 4, 1976 in Oklahoma until she preceded him in death. He was previously employed with Eastern State Hospital and then in steel fabrication in Oklahoma. He was a devoted father and an avid lover of animals. He loved country life, and caring for his farm animals.

Survivors include his children, Grace Marie Taylor, of Chelsea, OK, Phyllis Jean Edwards, of Chelsea, OK, Ada Aline Borden, of Dell City, OK, Clarence Allen Taylor, of Chelsea, and Joyce Kay Parker, of Catoosa, OK; one brother, Leroy Taylor, of Chelsea, OK; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Lester was preceded in death by 11 siblings; mother of his children, Bertha Marie (Haglar) Fuller; a son, William Eugene Taylor; and one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Hall.

Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery and Crematory, Joplin.
