Judy (Boylan) Burch
Judy (Boylan) Burch went peacefully after a battle with cancer to be with our Lord, while at home in Carl Junction, MO, surrounded by family.
Judy was born to the late Joseph and Virginia (Hill) Boylan in Chicago, IL and then grew up in Gary, IN. She graduated from Lew Wallace High School and then attended Indiana University Northwest in Gary before graduating from Indiana State University. It was there where she met her future husband, Sam Burch. They were united in marriage in 1971 in Indianapolis. During their time in Indianapolis, she taught high school and then first grade while raising her children. During that time Judy was also active in training her miniature poodles, Pepper, Rocky, and Boomer.
In 2013, they moved to Carl Junction to be closer to their grandchildren. She became an active member of her church, One Church Joplin. Judy enjoyed cruising at sea with her husband and family. She was extremely loyal and once she liked you, you had an advocate in your corner for life who was always willing to let others know what she thought. Those who knew her well, knew her heart, and knew what it was like to be truly loved. She was noted for her purple hair, love of her children, grandchildren, great grandchild, her church family, her three poodles, and especially her husband of 54 wonderful years, Sam.
Survivors include her husband, Sam Burch, of Carl Junction; sisters, Patty Rose (Tony) of Valparaiso, IN, Betty Morgan (Neil) of Mount Dora, FL, Mary Jo (Jeffrey) Johnson of Carrolton, TX; her sons, Steven Burch (Melissa) of Peoria, IL; Mark Burch (Rachel) of Indianapolis, IN; and Jeffrey Burch (Sarah) of Carl Junction, MO, although she always joked (we think) that her favorite son was Peyton Manning; her adored grandchildren, Tyson Burch (Sydney) of Pekin, IL; Emily Burch (Daniel) of Washburn, IL; Anna, Ryan, and Ashley Burch of Carl Junction, MO; and one great grandchild, Silas Burch of Pekin, IL. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Jo Johnson.
