Johnny F Howerton

Johnny F. Howerton of Goodman Mo., went to be with the lord on August 24, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Johnny was born in Noel Missouri on April 1, 1935 to the late Ozro and Zella Howerton. He was also proceeded in death by brothers Sammy Howerton and Jimmy Howerton and grandson John Howerton.

Johnny was a graduate of Noel School. He was a 27 year veteran of the Missouri National Guard, retiring with the rank of Sergeant First Class. Johnny operated his own heavy equipment business with his father, brother and sons. He was a proud member of the Noel First Baptist Church for many years and served his community as a volunteer fireman and scout leader. Johnny loved his wood working and made many birdhouses, clocks and cedar chests. He also loved to garden and grew blackberries that he shared with many friends and family. He also had the biggest heart for his dogs, they were his babies. One of his biggest joys was spending time with loved ones. Johnny never knew a stranger he could make a friend of anyone who wanted to chat. He was a good man and will be missed by many.

Johnny is survived by his loving wife Nancy (Gann) Howerton of Goodman. He is also survived by sons Randy (Lynn) Howerton of Noel, Ron (Linda) Howerton of Anderson, Scott (Terri) Howerton of Duson, LA, Steve (Sherry) Howerton of Maurice, LA, Jimmy (Mindy) Reynolds of Neosho, Travis Reynolds of Lanagan, and Dennis (DeAnna) Reynolds of Anderson. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, along with many in laws.
