David Brian Barfield June 6, 1960 – July 24, 2025 David Brian Barfield, age 65, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, in Joplin, Missouri. Born on June 6, 1960, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, David proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as a cook. His life was marked by quiet strength, deep love for his family, and a generous heart that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. David had a gift for storytelling and a sharp sense of humor. He loved to tell stories and jokes, often bringing laughter and light to any room he entered. His ability to make people smile will be one of the many things remembered fondly by those who knew him. He is survived by his son, Travis Barfield, and fiancée Taylor Mahurin; his daughter, Jessica Barfield; his sister, Sherry Pigott of Ft. Pierce, Florida; his brother, Guy Barfield, and wife Shelley of Margaret, Alabama; as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many cherished friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Herschel Barfield, and a sister, Melanie Barfield Permar. David’s warmth, humor, and steady presence will be deeply missed. He will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Services will be arranged at a later date.
