Donald Lee Manka

On July 15, 2025, Donald Lee Manka went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after a courageous battle with cancer and heart issues. He passed peacefully, surrounded by love and faith.

Donald was born on November 16, 1967, in Modesto, California, to Karen Faye Boyd and Donald Keith Manka. He graduated from Golden City High School in 1986 and later achieved his academic dream, earning a degree from Missouri Southern University in 2020.

Throughout his life, Donald worked in various roles, but he found his true calling with Carthage R-9 Schools as both a teacher and a school bus driver. He had a deep passion for working with children and took great joy in watching them learn and grow. His students remember him not only as an educator but as a mentor, friend, and source of encouragement.

Donald was known for his humor and love of pranks. He delighted in making people laugh and always sought to bring joy to those around him. His heart was as generous as it was playful—always ready to help, always full of love.

Above all else, Donald loved his faith and his family. On November 5, 1994, he married the love of his life and best friend, Susan Manka. Together they shared 30 beautiful years. He was a devoted husband, father to two sons—Michael and Andrew Manka of Carthage—and proud grandfather to Ezra Murillo-Manka.

Donald is survived by his siblings: James Manka (Lamar), Debbie Bogle (Neosho), and Berni Manka (North Carolina); his stepmother Jan Manka; stepsister Joeann Manka; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, aunts, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Karen and Donald; and two nieces, Ashley and Haley Onstott.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Christ Church of Oronogo (22145 Kafir Rd, Oronogo, MO 64855).

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Donald’s memory to the Four States Amputee Network, a cause close to his heart.

Arrangements are under the direction of ozark Memorial Park Crematory Joplin Mo.
