Annabelle Myrtle Jones “Annie”
Annabelle Myrtle Jones “Annie”, 66, a longtime resident of Franklin, Kansas, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 29, 1958 in Kansas City, Kansas to Wesley and Willa Wilson.
Annie attended school at Fort Scott Christian Heights and went on to work at Medical Lodge in Pittsburg, KS as a laundry aide for many years. She was known for her faith in Christ, her willingness to help others, her sense of humor, kindness, and resilience. She enjoyed singing, ministering, reading, shopping, trips with her sisters, and spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, always putting the needs of her family first.
She is survived by her loving daughter Jamie Jones of Joplin, Missouri, her cherished grandchildren, Eric Leeper, Tori Leeper, Nathan Jones, Chantel Jones, and Sianna Jones, and her precious great grandchildren Freya, Holden, and Greyson; her brothers Jim Wilson, Toby Wilson, and Tommy Wilson; her sisters Alley Doan, Sheila Murphy, Sue Marshall, and Willetta Heck and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband James Jones; her loving daughter Joanne Jones (Leeper); her parents Wesley and Willa Wilson and her brothers Wesley Wilson, Pete Wilson, Johnny Wilson, and Victor Wilson; her sisters Dorothy Carson, and Stella Rice Wilson.
A memorial service to celebrate Annie’s life will be held on Saturday August 2, 2025 at 4:00 pm at Faith Holiness Church 3605 Belle Center Road, Joplin MO.
Annie’s memory will be forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.
