David Aaron Cash
David Aaron Cash passed away at Communities of Wildwood Ranch skilled nursing facility on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
David was born in El Reno Oklahoma on June 8, 1950 to Victor and Joyce Cash. He graduated high school in El Reno and attended Oklahoma Baptist University where he majored in music history with organ as his instrument major. He moved to Arkansas and was a cross-country truck driver for a year and taught truck driving. Moving back to Oklahoma, he attended Oklahoma University and studied music.
He moved to Joplin, MO when he was hired as Dispatcher for Sitton Truck Lines. He was later employed with Standard Transportation, Inc. where he created the IT Department and continued there until he retired.
He sang in a special small ensemble In Neosho, MO, as well as played Handbells at the Presbyterian Church there. David was a member of First Baptist Church Joplin where he served as Interim Music Director. He directed the Adult Choir and the Handbells. With perfect pitch and an excellent memory, he did both well.
Not one to brag, gossip, or criticize others, he gave when he saw a need.
David was proceeded in death by his parents, Victor David Cash and Joyce Colleen Barger Cash, as well as grandparents, aunts and uncles. He is survived by his sister and husband, Verna Cash McNabb and Dennis McNabb of Norman, OK, brothers Glen Cash, and Brian Cash and wife, Estelle Youngheim Cash of El Reno, OK.
David requested no memorial service, and will be laid to rest in El Reno, Ok Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park of Joplin, MO
