Rebecca “Becky” Cochran

Rebecca “Becky” Cochran, age 75, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.

Born on May 19, 1950, in Paducah, Kentucky, Becky was the daughter of Wayne and Rosemary Hohman and grew up in Brookport, Illinois with her two siblings, Leigh and John.

After high school she attended Murray State University and Ozark Christian College.

On July 28, 1979, she married the love of her life, Gordon Cochran and they built their life together. She worked at the CP center and then taught at College Heights Christian School until they welcomed their son, Ryan. From then on, she gave piano lessons to many children, homeschooled their son and tended to her home as a loving wife and mother. She loved serving the Lord and was a children’s Sunday School teacher for over 40 years. Becky was a very active member of Connect Christian Church in Carl Junction.

Becky was preceded in death by her father, Wayne and mother, Rosemary.

She is survived by her husband, Gordon, her son, Ryan and wife, Jamie of Joplin, four grandchildren, Emery, Arden, Myla and Jenson, one brother John Hohman and one sister, Leigh Ann Craig. Also, many other extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

The family will receive friends and visitors from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Tuesday, May 27 at Mason-Woodard Chapel in Joplin.

A funeral has been scheduled for 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 28 at Mason-Woodard Chapel.
