Kathleen Ann Moyer

Kathleen A. (Moore) Moyer, 79, of Tulsa, OK, passed away on March 31, 2025.

Kate was born on March 30, 1946, in Midland, TX, to Lt. Col. USAF (retired) Jack Edwin Moore and Daisy (White) Moore. As the daughter of a career Air Force officer, Kate’s childhood was filled with travel and adventure.

Kate graduated from Stillwater High School in Stillwater, OK, and went on to earn a degree in Speech and Hearing Pathology from Oklahoma State University (OSU) in 1970. While at OSU, she was a member of the Tri Delta Sorority and the Arnold Air Society Angel Flight. It was at OSU that she met the love of her life, Bob Moyer. They were married on June 3, 1967, and moved to Pensacola, FL, where Bob was stationed in the U.S. Navy. Together, they had a full and adventurous life, living in numerous locations and raising four sons.

Kate’s career path reflected her deep commitment to helping others. She worked as a Speech Therapy assistant at Bancroft Residential School in Philadelphia, PA, and later returned to school to pursue a degree in Sign Language at Tulsa Community College. She worked at Telecommunication Relay Service for the Deaf and enjoyed a fulfilling career at Educational Development Corporation (EDC) from 1988 until her retirement in 2002.

Kate found joy in many activities, including sewing, reading, and water aerobics. Above all, she cherished her family, especially her grandchildren, with whom she spent countless hours playing board games, teaching them chess and poker, and enjoying “sleepovers” filled with movies, games, and popcorn. She loved watching her grandchildren excel in sports and music, and their achievements brought her immense pride.

Kate had an incredible gift for making lasting connections with others. She never met a stranger and was always ready to share a conversation, whether it was with a neighbor or someone she’d just met. One of her most cherished memories was inviting a lonely elderly woman to her home after meeting her in a shoe store, forming a friendship that lasted for years.

Kate is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Michael Moore of Tulsa, and her sister Maureen Moore of Oklahoma City.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Bob Moyer; her sons Richard of Tulsa, David and wife Amy of Bixby, Steven and wife Jeanne of Jenks, and Michael and wife Heather of Conway, AR. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren: Ksenia, Nadia, Melanie, Alex, Courtney, Evan, Conner, and Wesley, and great granddaughter Sofia.

Kate is also survived by her brother Patrick Moore, and his wife Colleen of Benson, AZ; her sister Margaret Simms of Stillwater, OK; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Kate’s memory to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.

Kate’s kindness, wisdom, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
