Ivalena Jane Bacon
Lovingly written by the family:
Columbus, KS — Ivalena (Ivy) Bacon passed away June 30, 2022, peacefully in her sleep. She was 49 at the time of her passing. Ivalena was born in Kansas City, Missouri on December 23, 1972. She had been sick for a long while with many health issues.
Ivalena wouldn’t want us to cry over her, but instead, celebrate her life and continue living in her memory. Her friends knew her by “Ivy”. She was loved by many over the years. Ivalena had a heart of gold, as she helped many others in need. She had a dream to one day start an animal rescue in order to help troubled youth. She had a love for most animals; however, she hated snakes and spiders. Ivalena met her husband of 20 years on a chat program called paltalk. Like any marriage, they had their good and bad times. Ivalena and Daniel just celebrated their 20th anniversary on February 9th.
Ivalena was preceded in death by her mother and the person she called “Dad”, Bobbie and James Smith, her biological father, Otto Brown, her brothers, William (Bill) Trosper, and Marvin Ladewig, her grandparents, Marvin and Mary Jo Wood, as well as her uncle, Paul Wood and her niece Crystal Bowen.
Ivalena is survived by her husband, Daniel Bacon of Columbus, Kansas, her daughter, Jessica Munsell of Brownwood, Texas, daughter, Amanda Guitteye of Brownwood, Texas, her four grandbabies, Brayden, Karya, Wesley and Jillyan of Texas, her brother John Trosper of San Saba, Texas, her sister Sandra Brown of Brownwood, Texas, sister Luann Pino of California, her brother, Don Brown of Fernley, Nevada, sister Sanna Hafey-Warren of Portland, Oregon and many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, sister-and brothers-in-law.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at 10:00 AM at the Ozark Memorial Park Crematory air-chapel, 415 N. St. Louis Ave. in Joplin. Chaplain Dave with Avalon Hospice along with his wife and chaplain as well as Chaplain Johnny will be overseeing the memorial service.
All that knew her are welcome to attend to pay their respects.
